Christmas Miracle for Paul

In July 2023 Paul Stankiewicz was very unexpectedly diagnosed with multiple myeloma. Paul is only 42 years old. He is a United States Marine veteran and has completed over 20 tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is a loving husband and the sole breadwinner of his family which includes his wife Lauren and 3 daughters.

Two years ago, Paul and his family purchased an old Victorian home that only had shiplap on the walls. Paul had been installing drywall with plans to start on the tape, mud, floating, sanding and painting but his diagnosis this past summer stopped these plans cold. His bones are extremely fragile resulting in multiple broken bones from doing normal activities, Paul can no longer pick up anything over 20 pounds, and can only stand for short periods. Doing any of these things mentioned puts him in excruciating pain. The current shiplap allows dust and other debris in the house that will be harmful to Paul after his stem cell transplant which is planned for February.

A small team of family and friends worked with contractors in Paul’s town of Navasota, Texas to obtain quotes for the work that remains in his home. The most reasonable quote to get the work finished and done prior to Paul being released home from hospital is estimated to be minimum $15,000. So many have asked how you can help!! You can be part of the solution by partnering with us to raise funds for this specific need. We understand most people’s budget is stretched and times are tough. Paul and Lauren did not want us to do this fundraiser and they didn’t want to ask for financial help but they need it. We know there are good people who are willing to offer support, no matter how small. Anything you can do to help contribute will go a long way and ease this burden for Paul and his family as they battle this medical crisis. Time is limited as the work must get completed prior to Paul’s stem cell transplant or he will not be able to recover safely at home, which could lead to further burdens for this wonderful family.
