I know it’s long but Please Read !!

Hi, as most of you may know, my name is Bridgett. My daughter Ariah is a senior at Trona High School. Let me give a little back story before I state the reason for this fund raiser. At Trona High, they have this pretty awesome program, Sophomore Concessions. It is where the Sophomore class runs the concession stands at the events held at the school. Football games, basketball, volleyball, etc. they do have adults that help. All of the money raised by these kids through their Sophomore year is used to fund their Senior Trip. EVERY class looks forward to their Senior Trip. Ok fast forward to my daughters class Senior Year. They have also raised money through fund raiser like selling candy, which I’m sure many reading this probably bought candy from them. This was to help pay for the trip as well. These kids busted their bootys and raised enough. They were to depart Trona on May 25th at 4:00 am, head to Catalina Island for the day, then spend the evening on shore side at Dave N Busters and then a go kart race track, then return to Trona a good 24 hours or so later. 10 of the 16 seniors , I believe 16 is the right number, decided to pull the traditional Senior Prank. I have two kids who have graduated from Trona who also participated in their Senior Prank. I have worked for the school and I have seen the after math of senior pranks. So, before their Senior Trip they get a staff member to let them in to the library, they throw papers everywhere across the library floor, the bathrooms as well, and rearrange the furniture. No damage, none ever mentioned by staff. They wrap it up and get ready for their trip. The leave as scheduled. They get to the fairy to ride it to the island and 8 kids names were called, Ariah McKayla Aleena Paris Arthur Richie Ramon and Hector. They were told to get back onto the bus and return to school. Not one time were parents contacted through any of this. In fact we called and called with no response from the Principal or Superintendent. They didn’t talk to parents until the kids had arrived back at the school. I could go on and on about all of the ways the school handled this situation poorly, I mean 10 kids participated, only 8 were punished ! Anyway, in the past, the seniors have always been made to simply clean up the mess they caused and everyone went on their merry way. No harm no foul. They got to attend their senior trips. Sadly, this year, with no warning to the kids, the administration decided to take a stand. Yes I believe the kids should have been held accountable, as they have been in the past. These 8 kids raised hundreds of dollars and will not get a dime back. And of course they didn’t get to attend their senior trip, The trip they have planned for and looked forward to all of their high school days. SO, us mommas/sisters have decided to see if we can raise money to take them. Help them forget the horrible day and replace it with a MEMORY TO LAST THEIR LIFETIME. A memory with their classmates getting together for one last hoorah!! Those who participated in the candy sales and other fund raising events, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Unfortunately they didn’t get to reap the Benefits. So here we are, asking for help, trying to take them on their Senior Trip.. These are great kids, amazing students, who meant no harm, just followed the steps of their upper class-man. If you would like to help, we will once again, be so so grateful!! And I know the kids would be on top of the world if they got to have their day.
