Sadly as many of you may be aware Baby boy Abel sadly gained his angel wings after fighting a very rare cancer. He was just 19 months . As you can imagine for any parent this would be your worst nightmare and nothing will ever take away the pain of losing a child, any donations will help his family through the toughest time of there life and just help towards anything that doesn’t come free and towards giving him the best send off he could ever have.
Abel is and always will be loved by so many and has touched the hearts of us all, he was a brave, strong and beautiful baby boy who will be in our hearts forever.
thinking of Rachel, Chris, Athea and all of there family and this very heartbreaking time.
Abel is a beautiful, brave little boy who has been fighting an incredibly rare and aggressive cancer called a rhabdoid tumour since he was just four months old. Now 18 months old, Abel has spent most of his young life in and out of hospital, enduring 14 rounds of chemotherapy, six weeks of radiotherapy, and major surgery to remove a tumour from his liver. After a year of unimaginable strength and resilience, his family were hopeful he was nearing the end of treatment and about to “ring the bell.”
Heartbreakingly, a new lump was recently discovered and has grown rapidly in just a few weeks, leaving Abel unwell once again and his mum facing another terrifying chapter. This fundraiser has been set up to support Rachel, Chris and all the family at this incredibly difficult time — helping with travel to specialist hospitals, accommodation, and the many unexpected costs that come with caring for a seriously ill child, especially at this time of year. Any support, whether through a donation or sharing this page, means more than words can express to Abel as they focus on what matters most: giving Abel the best possible chance and surrounding him with love and care.
We also want to take a moment to recognise how truly incredible Abel’s mum, Rachel, is. Since the very beginning, Rachel has not left Abel’s side — spending countless days and nights in hospital, continuing to breastfeed him through treatment, advocating for him, and giving him constant comfort and love. All while also being a devoted mum to Abel’s sister, Athea. Her strength, resilience, and unconditional love as a mother is nothing short of extraordinary, and this fundraiser is one small way we can support Rachel as she continues to hold her family together through the hardest of times.
