Dear Road’s End Farm Family,
We are Friends of Road’s End Farm (FoREF), a volunteer team of longtime campers, counselors, and parents who are raising funds to support our home at the end of the road. Between the five of us, we have spent more than 25 summers at the Farm, ridden more than 60 Farm ponies, and picked countless rocks out of the feedlots. You’re here because you, too, have had similar experiences and understand why the Farm is so special.
We all know too well how deeply the COVID-19 pandemic has affected every aspect of life, and REF is no exception to experiencing the terrible consequences of this crisis. While the Farm has been able to rely on savings in recent months, canceling the 2020 camp season had very serious effects on everything from daily operations to the Farm’s long-term financial outlook. Unlike most other summer camps that close up for the year at the end of the summer, Road’s End Farm has significant year-round operational costs related to maintenance of the Farm, staff, and of course, care of our beloved herd. Another canceled summer would be devastating. So we at FoREF have organized an official giving campaign to ensure our beloved Farm stays healthy and enduring for many years to come. Our goal is to raise $100,000 by March 1st, 2021.
This campaign has Tom and Alicia’s blessing, and we are working closely with Briony, the new Camp Director. We’ve got all that covered - now this is where you come in! We invite you to join us in giving to the Farm. Any amount (yes, any amount) is most welcome and will make a huge difference. Gifts can be made via this Go Fund Me page, or via Venmo or cash / check. See our website for more information on giving.
No matter your age, location, or connection to the Farm, we know you are like us in that your life (or the life of someone you love) would not be the same had you not known what it means to be a Road’s End Farm kid: hearing the echoing shout of “Ring the bell!” at the end of a long day, seeing your hard work clearing brush pay off in a cozy bonfire, and feeling your favorite pony’s velvety nose as you snuggle after a great ride. We hope you join us in ensuring that many generations of REF kids can experience these and all the other wonderful things the Farm has offered so selflessly for so long. After all, many hands really do make light work.
With love and appreciation,
The Friends of Road’s End Farm team
