Hello everyone! After long thinking and a hard decision, I have made the choice to create a GoFundMe for my mother and family as we are facing an unknown and challenging future!

For those that know my mother, know that her uncle bought a small house in 2008 for her to live in with her growing family. In 2009, he knocked it down and built my mother a brand new house. Not only just a house but a home that she could be safe in and raise her family with peace of mind.

In 2013, our uncle passed and left the house in a trust where it has remained up until December 2024.

During 2023-2024, my youngest sister faced some mental health issues. She had a failed suicide attempt and ended up in the hospital for about 5 months. During this time, she was also diagnosed with anorexia nervosa among other issues. My little sister is still currently going through treatment and attends a school for adolescents with disabilities.

While my sister was hospitalized, my mother was unable to work, which caused her to fall behind in rent owed to the trust. My mother started working again shortly after my sister was discharged and was able to start making rent payments again.

Fast forward to December of 2024, my mother was informed the house was sold out of the trust to her cousin and she had taken on full ownership of the property. She was not to pay rent anymore to the trust but directly to the new owner, which she has and has not since fallen behind.

On October 29th, my mother and i went to court, where we “came to a decision” (it was our only option) that we will be evicted December 31st 2025. giving us only two short months to pack our entire life away. 

Not to mention finding a place to go in Rhode Island that is a 3 bedroom, cheap enough for us to afford, accepts pets, etc. has been EXTREMELY difficult. Even with over 20 people helping us with our search. 

 

We are devastated, in shock and confused . How do you pick up from being stable for 17 years? She raised 4 kids in our home, she has four grandkids that love going to “Grandma's.” We have dogs and cats that are not just pets; they are family.

We don’t know what the future holds, but we do have faith. I am trying to lighten my mother’s burden of this devastating situation. For those of you that know my mother, know that she is so kind, she does so much for everyone, she goes above and beyond all the time, she has the biggest heart and is so welcoming, loyal, hardworking, ambitious, and most of all, the best mom and Grandma to us. ♥️

Help lighten the burdens of possibly not having a place to go for my mother, my little sister, and me.
