St. Kilda resident, acclaimed artist Anthony Breslin and 'Neighbours Cafe' owner Dominic Kurian want to create a large enduring landmark mural for the City of Port Phillip community. We wish to cover the large exterior/interior courtyard wall in over 82 panels 40cm x 40cm and 30cm x 30cm illustrating inspiring images of animals, cafe symbols and icon images of St. Kilda.
Anthony Breslin, currently dealing with terminal cancer, is a much-loved artist and a real institution in Melbourne. His vibrant public works can be found in several inner-city suburbs. Despite serious health issues in recent times, this mural will be distinctively Breslin: joyful, colourful and playful – something for all generations. The wall mural will be an Anthony Breslin legacy.
Everyone who donates will have their name recorded on a special plaque in the mural. This stunning mural will make "Neighbours Cafe" a 'must go to' place and enhance its rising reputation as one of St. Kilda's most popular cafes.
The funds are required for Stage 1 materials such as 5 sheets of multi-panel, 20 tubes of T-Rex adhesive, 10 assorted colour exterior house paint, 72 wooden panels cut to size, 8 litres of a white undercoat, 8 litres of acqua blue base coat and assorted painting items.
