Jane teaches in Uganda again!

Hi everyone!

I am so thankful to be preparing for a 3rd summer teaching in Uganda (this time, my little sister will be joining me)! I will be spending 1.5 months teaching in the daily school program at Ekisa Home for Special Needs Children in Jinja, Uganda (www.ekisa.org)

There are a multitude of forces working against children with special needs in Uganda. Many of them are abandoned or stigmatized due to a major lack of understanding around disabilities. My prayer is for God to move families and teachers to see their children as the rare and beautiful treasures that they truly are {Proverbs 24:4}

My goal is to equip Ugandan educators and families with strategies and individualized programs to help their children succeed through special education and behavior therapy. My heart is to work in close relationship with my students and their caregivers, while implementing strategies that will make a sustainable impact. 

All donations collected from now on will go directly towards the emergency medical fund for the children that live at Ekisa. (www.ekisa.org)

My dream is to continue long-term work in Uganda, using my background in special education, behavioral therapy, and child development. Upon receiving my degree next May, I will be partnering with Ekisa Ministries and 99Balloons (www.99balloons.org) in order to best serve children with disabilities in Uganda.

My prayer is that every child with special needs would grow into the fullness of all that God intended them to be.The bible says that Jesus came so that His children could have life and have it to the full! I believe this with all my heart.
