Friday, January 23, 2026, a dear friend to many was involved in a terrible car accident. 17 year old Jacob Salazar was commuting to school the morning of the 23rd to make it to his next in person class. Not even 10 minutes away from his home, Jacob was involved in a head on collision. As a result, Jacob’s vehicle caught fire. He was pulled out of his car by some Good Samaritans but not before suffering severe burns. He was then airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital where he is being treated for the burns that are covering 70 percent of his body. While he is responsive, Jacob faces a long road to recovery.
Jacob is one of the most school spirited people at his high school (Central Davidson High). He is a member of the soccer team and loved by every teacher who has ever talked to him. Jacob is known to the entire student body as being kind, caring, and up lifting.
His entire family are at his side in the hospital. While they are there for Jacob physically and spiritually we would like to be there for them by helping them lighten their financial burden. This Go Fund me account has been started by Jacob’s friends to help him and his family.
