My name is Mildred Kyles I live in Savage Minnesota with my children. I am trying to get custody of my great nephew. His mother is my niece my sister’s daughter. She was a young girl who wasn’t able nor ready to take care of her children so me along with my mother stepped in to help her and we took them. My nephew ( Ju Ju) is a beautiful little boy and it just breaks my heart that he is in the situation he is in. I first got him when he was seven weeks old and I raised him up until he was around five. I allowed his mother to come get him a few times in between but she always brung him back. She had finally gotten on her feet and her and her children moved to Oklahoma in 2017. It was hard for me to see him and his brother them leave but I also wanted her to become the adult and mother I knew she could be and raise her kids. I stayed in contact with them no matter what through calls and FaceTime. My niece called about an incident that happened in late July where he was taking to the hospital for supposedly falling off of a bike. In between all of that child services got in the middle and my nephew was placed in foster care and he has been there ever since. The other children are in Illinois JuJu is the only one in Oklahoma. My children and I have driven 13 hours to Oklahoma numerous of times to visit him for only one hour. My mom moved to Oklahoma in hopes of getting him but it’s been a failed attempt. My nieces rights are terminated so it’s difficult. He has been in three foster homes so far. We love him so much and we want him back home with us here in Minnesota. We have talked to lawyers but it cost money. We thought this would be an easy process but it hasn’t been. We were told that once the father’s rights are terminated that the foster family can adopt him even though he has a ton of family that wants him, so we are asking for help to get a lawyer so we can start the process of getting him back. He wants to come home and we want him to come home. So with that being said it would mean the world to us if you can help us reach our goal. We appreciate all donations little or big. Thank you
