Family Expenses

Greetings, my name is Julia, and I am raising funds for a dear family - the Barnes family. I first met Andrea at a fitness studio over a year ago, where she was a gracious, motivating fitness trainer. In our time together, we have gotten to know each other and have become close friends. I learned about her beautiful family. Andrea has a loving husband named Aaron and three exceptional children. One of the things that really brought us together was finding out that we both had family members with the autoimmune disease called Lupus. Furthermore, it was found that both Aaron and my mother suffered kidney failure due to their battle with Lupus.

Aaron has been battling Lupus for years and, in the last few years, it was found that the Lupus started to attack his kidneys. Currently, his kidneys are experiencing critical failure. Early this year, he went to the Mayo Clinic to start the kidney donation process. He has also started dialysis which hasn't been easy. It has taken the surgical team three times to get his dialysis port set right. Dialysis has been a struggle and Aaron has been in non stop pain while trying to get the dialysis his body needs to survive. Just recently, Aaron was hospitalized, and he is in critical condition. His dialysis port was not working...again. The doctors are now administering his dialysis through a port in his neck.

Aaron is in a real battle right now. He needs to get physically and mentally stronger to prepare for the kidney donation surgery. Andrea has already started the process to hopefully be the donor Aaron needs to survive. Another friend of the family has also volunteered to start the kidney matching process and hopefully donate a kidney to save Aaron’s life.

Along with the physical struggle, the family has undergone a lot of stress and concern for Aaron’s condition. Though spirits remain positive, the continuous stress of his deteriorating condition takes a toll. The family can use any help they can right now. Andrea hasn’t left Aaron’s side as he is in critical condition in the hospital. The funds raised would be used to help the family financially to help them through this difficult time.

If there ever was a family to pour blessings into, it is the Barnes family.
