Hi, our names are Sarah and Shannon. We are raising money to help fund a trip to New York for our mum, Donna. Unfortunately, for the past 6 years our mum has been battling Multiple Myeloma, a form of blood cancer. Up until recently we were under the impression that it would not affect her life expectancy and was easily treatable. However, we were told last month that it’s extremely aggressive and treatment was not working meaning she could only have less than year to live. This has had a massive impact on our family and is truly devastating. We are still trying everything we can. She has been through more than anyone should have to endure in a lifetime but has been so unbelievably strong. We are so proud of her and just want to give her something to look forward to. Therefore, for her birthday this year we were hoping to take her to one of her dream locations as she has never had the chance to experience going abroad. However, with the cost of travel insurance for her and the small amount of time we have to pay for it we are struggling to make this happen.
