Support sustainable development in McKernan and Belgravia neighbourhoods in Edmonton!
We are a group of neighbours around 78th Avenue and 115 Street working with a consultant and city planners to ensure that proposed development follows the spirit of the Area Redevelopment Plan (ARP) for the McKernan Belgravia area. Developers have proposed cutting off our cul de sac to build two 54 unit apartment buildings on two single family home lots. Inability to turn around will restrict access to fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, in addition to other concerns.
The process of involving a consultant is an expensive one, however, and it would not be fair to have only one family (or a few) to foot the bill for the whole neighbourhood. Approximate total cost is estimate to be $10,000 - every bit counts! Even if 10 families put in $500-1000 we will get close to achieving our goal.
