As Bronxites and New Yorkers, we're coming together to help businesses and areas that were affected by looters.
We are currently partnering with the Fordham BID which is an established non-profit organization here in The Bronx. They will help in guiding us to use the correct network and resources to help allocate the funds to these businesses affected and BLM.
This is our home. Please be patient as we gather more information about businesses that need our help the most. Thank you again to everyone for your efforts, donations, reposts as they did not go unnoticed. Many thanks to the businesses we are working with to restore our community.
Let’s get straight to the point.
Steps Taken During this Time:
⁃ Go Fund Me created on June 2nd, 2020.
⁃ With the overwhelmingly positive results we got together and decided that we were not comfortable with the funds going into a personal account. So began the creation of The Bronx United Co. filed on June 11th, 2020.
⁃ Due to a longer than expected process with HSBC that began on June 12th, 2020, the account opening took a week to complete. Account finalized on June 19th, 2020.
⁃ Bank documentation provided rejected by Go Fund Me.
⁃ Bank documents were resubmitted on June 25th, 2020.
⁃ Go Fund Me required us to fill out some more documentation as the funds were held for safety measures.
⁃ Funds held as a precautionary measure by Go Fund Me lifted the afternoon of June 30th, 2020.
⁃ Further delay due to social media climate.

Due to a high request in refunds, the total amount is subject to change. This is why we chose to not set a fixed amount for each business listed above until the funds are indeed cleared.
Also keep in mind that Go Fund Me does charge a transacting fee of 2.9% + 0.30 from the total amount.
The funds will be given out to the business owners via check under the Bronx United business account. Once all checks have been cleared by the business owners and charities we will post receipts as confirmation. After all donations have been made, we will post the Bronx United bank statement as the balance will equal to $0.
Lastly, we have seen first hand what it means to be silent during times of uncertainty, but we are determined to finish what we started. Which is why we will continue to update everyone regarding this process as we look to lead with total transparency.
