In early March 2019 this sweet baby was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and taken for a precautionary ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed an unknown mass present on her left kidney. The mass was diagnosed as a probable infection and she was prescribed antibiotics. A follow up ultrasound a week later revealed the mass appeared to have increased in size and also revealed the presence of a second smaller left kidney mass. Brinlee was subsequently taken to Children’s Health Care of Dallas for a CT scan which resulted the discovery of a suspected childhood cancer known as a Wilms Tumor. Doctors are currently planning an MRI for better information and suggested chemotherapeutic and surgery as a likely treatment path. Help us help our baby.
