The kitty cat is officially out of the bag! We are adopting! We have desired adoption for quite a while (years, in fact), and now we are starting the process. God blessed us with a biological daughter of our own several years ago, and she is filled with light, love, joy and inquisitiveness. We consider her to be our “Samuel –baby” (even though she is a girl), because she is the result of much prayer and God’s favor when we were trying to conceive a child of our own. She’s so wonderful, we just cannot stop with one child.
We have tried for years for number two, but circumstances have led us to wonder if God now wants to bless us with a “Moses-baby” or an “Esther-baby”: a child navigated into our arms through adoption. A child with a special purpose. We do not know if this little one will be a newborn or a toddler, but what we are certain of is that we will give ourselves over to bringing up this child in a home filled with love, honesty, laughter, forgiveness, understanding, integrity and support. And speaking of support, we are not the only ones excited about this addition to the family: Meema, Peepa, Nana, Paw-Paw, aunties, uncles and cousins are chomping at the bit to meet Little Ballard.
As many of you know, though, the cost of adoption is expensive, and we are creating this page to help offset the out-of-pocket costs we will surely incur in order to expand our family. All money raised will go toward adoption fees. Every cent. That said, every cent counts and we wish to express our gratitude in advance for the donations coming in. To us, your generosity is evidence that this child is meant to be ours. Lastly, if you know of someone who is considering placing a baby or toddler up for adoption, do not hesitate to contact us. Perhaps that is the son or daughter we are meant to nurture.
In gratitude, The Ballard Family
