Due to an unsafe situation with our neighbor, we broke our lease and moved from our Michigan home in March of 2024. Since then, our family has had a really rough year with a lot of downs. We have had to stay in hotels and Airbnbs with our kids, which has been extremely expensive. Due to having complications at the end of my pregnancy, I also had to take more time off work than planned, which did not help our financial situation. After having our daughter, we seemed to be heading in the right direction to being able to finally get our own permanent place. We finally got approved for an apartment for our family to call home, and then my husband got a call that the restaurant he was working at, Bahama Breeze, was going to unexpectedly close and he would not be working any more shifts as of that moment. It was another major hit to us financially, especially since we finally got approved for an apartment. We have the deposit set to go but we only have until Friday to come up with the first month's rent. Due to Memorial Day, our Airbnb last week was double the price. We have been paying almost $4000 a month, and to extend last week was an additional $1600, which was what we planned to put towards our apartment. I have exhausted all of our options in trying to find help and have to put my pride aside and ask for help to get us out of this expensive cycle of having to pay for Airbnbs and get us into our apartment so we can finally have our kids settled into a place after a year of moving around constantly. Any help would be so beyond appreciated, and once we are settled, we plan on paying it forward any way we can.
