Support Run4Fun Youth Track Program
Tax deductible
Please help support Run4Fun continue our program with our youth runners at the Middle School for Art and Philosophy (MSAP) located in East Flatbush/Brownsville this upcoming school year Sept. 2018- June 2019.
Run4Fun is a non-profit organization that promotes holistic wellness in youth emotionally, physically, and socially through running. Run4Fun is filled with incredible stories of youth overcoming obstacles, creating life-long friendships, encompassing perseverance, and discovering a love of running, play and being active that will take them on paths of wellness emotionally, mentally, and physically in the present and into their future.
We were honored to receive the Nike Community Impact Fund Grant to bring Run4Fun to MSAP located in East Flatbush/Brownsville in the fall of 2017. The funding has ended with the finish of this school year. We would love your support to be able to continue this fall 2018. The parent coordinator originally called me in the winter of 2017, expressing that her students kept asking for a running program, however the school did not have the funds. Thanks to donations from this gofundme we could run our program in the spring of 2017. The parent coordinator then reached out in the summer asking us to return. The parent coordinator, dean, and principal were thrilled when they heard we received the Nike grant to return in the fall of 2017.
Our Run4Fun youth at this school include 6th, 7th and 8th graders. The parent coordinator invited me to our 8th graders' graduation. She expressed that many overcame many challenges to reach graduation, and she shared how our program helped to give them confidence and belief in themselves. She expressed that all the students that participated in our program learned to be better team players and became more focused on their academics. She also shared that many have developed more patience and discipline. I was honored when the principal presented me with awards at the graduation, an 'Above & Beyond Award' to our Run4Fun Team for our support to their students, and I was awarded with the Community Service Award for outstanding service and commitment to the children of their school. The students express they love Run4Fun and loved creating bonds with others, running the races, and art run, playing running games, eating healthy snacks, and can't wait to start the program again.
I am asking for your support so that we may continue to have a direct impact in transforming the lives of the youth in East Flatbush/Brownsville. Your support will enable us to continue and sustain our Run4Fun program with the middle school student participants beginning this upcoming school year, September 2018 and running through June 2019.
You have the incredible opportunity to have an impact on the lives of the youth with your donation. They will be forever touched as I will!
Thank you all so much!
