Hi, I am Dipson and In April 2026, I’ll be running my first marathon in Belgium. 42.2 kilometers — something I’ve never attempted before.
Taking on this challenge made me think about how I could turn it into something that matters beyond just finishing the race.
The inspiration came after seeing a close friend join the Metal for Nepal team last year. They travelled into very remote Himalayan communities to deliver warm jackets to children. Watching that journey made a strong impression on me. It reminded me that something many of us take for granted can mean the difference between comfort and hardship for a child facing winter in the mountains.
Metal for Nepal is a UK-based charity that brings together people from the heavy metal, tattoo, and art communities to support children living in remote areas of Nepal. Through projects like providing computers to schools and delivering warm clothing and footwear, they help create opportunities where resources are often limited.
Their mission is simple: helping children grow up with the chance to learn, dream, and build a better future, no matter where they live.
Whenever I return to Nepal, I’m reminded how fortunate I’ve been. Running my first marathon felt like a good opportunity to give something back.
So this race isn’t just about the distance. It’s about using the effort and the journey to support something bigger.
If you’d like to support the cause, any donation would be hugely appreciated. Your contribution can help bring warmth, education, and opportunity to children who need it most.
Thank you for supporting this run and the work Metal for Nepal is doing.
