Hi, my name is Stacey.
The pictures you see here are of my amazing sister Andrea, who was born with severe CP (cerebral palsy). She has spent her whole life watching my brother and I live a normal life. She did this with such grace and for the most part a joyful spirit. My mother has devoted her life to my sister. She has tried to give her as much of a normal life as possible. However, because Andrea is a non-verbal and a paralyzed person with very limited movement of her arms this was an overwhelming task. My mom has always been very independent and works so hard to take care of everything all by herself. Andrea has been going through a lot of medical battles recently. She spent 3 weeks in Methodist Hospital and is currently in a nursing home. My mom has spent every minute with her doing anything and everything she can, in the hopes of getting her better. Right now our goal is to get her home, whatever that looks like. My mom is Andrea's only caregiver. She hasn't been earning any income for over a month now. Andrea now requires a wheelchair van, in order for her to go home. Andrea has declined so quickly, there was no time to prepare for anything. She is to the point that my mom can not lift or move her. Andrea just wants to go home, to her own bedroom and her kitties. You probably dont know my family, but if I could sum them up... my sister Annie is the most upbeat, happy and optimistic person. She is always smiling (until the last few months ). My mom is the strongest person I know. She's spent 34 years taking care of Andrea without one complaint. She never asks for help, so I am asking.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider helping our family.
