Help indi chocolate provide meals to those in need

Donation protected
indi chocolate has been trying to secure funds so that we can offer free ready to eat meals to those in need in our community in Seattle.

Since we have not been able to secure funds through other means, we  now turn to GoFundMe to ask for your help.

We see an increasing need to help those that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and are now food insecure.

We want to help and need your assistance to offer free meals to those in need.

Because indi chocolate is located in Pike Place Market, we will be able to buy local fresh ingredients that will also help the Market farmers.

We will also work to reduce food waste by collaborating with other small local businesses when possible.

We have an amazing, healthy, and talented team at indi chocolate that would like to work on this to help those in need.

We will have approximately $450 in upfront costs to get tools for making meal preparation more productive at indi chocolate and to purchase additional supplies for our team's safety.

After theses upfront costs, $10 will pay for a meal for those in need.

You are helping us feed those who are food insecure and need help. You are also helping us help our community.

We would like to start this program as soon as we have the funding to do so.  If you can please contribute now, we would really appreciate being able to start as quickly as possible. We know there is a growing need and we want to help.

If additional funding is raised it will allow us to make more meals and help more people.

We hope that we can extend the number of meals and length of time we are able to give away meals to those in need.  Your support will help us do this.

indi chocolate has experience helping in the community and making nutritious meals, including using our cacao-based spice rubs, teas, and cocoa nibs.

We really want to help. We want to support those in need. The current need is great in our community and additional support is needed as more people lose jobs and businesses close.

We appreciate any and all support you may be able to provide for this. We know this is the right thing to do for others and appreciate your support to allow us the honor of helping those in need.

Thank you for reading through this and here's a little background about indi chocolate...

indi chocolate is named after our founder's daughter, Indi.

indi chocolate was established in 2010 when our founder started making cocoa butter based body care in her kitchen for her younger daughter's sensitive skin.

Thankfully people wanted to buy (and continue to buy!) these same lotions and lip balms.

The intention was always to start a chocolate company but being small, without deep pockets to pull from, meant that starting as a body care company helped us become the company we are today with the same guiding principle of using the fewest and best ingredients to everything we make.

Our founder, Erin Andrews, wanted to create a business that was not only about enjoying all things chocolate but also about fostering a positive, inclusive community after having been the at-home parent raising her daughters for the first 7 1/2 years.

indi chocolate makes bean to bar chocolate in Pike Place Market on Western Ave. You can see the entire process from roasting beans to finished chocolate from our cafe.

indi chocolate chose to be in Pike Place Market because we care about farmers, the community of Pike Place Market  (including the wonderful people and many services for the community, like the food bank), the creative small businesses and local artists we get to work and collaborate with, as well as an amazing community that cares about their food, where it comes from and how it is made.

We strive to make all communities we work with and within better from the farmers we work with in foreign lands for our cacao beans and closer home in Pike Place Market, as well as programs to help under-resourced youth on their path to entrepreneurship and much more.

We collaborate with many small businesses to provide fun products and experiences at indi chocolate.

indi chocolate is shifting some of our classes online, since we are not yet able to gather in Seattle and currently offer takeaway, curbside pick up, delivery, and online sales.

We hope that you will be able to visit us someday in Seattle.

Please stay healthy and thank you for anything you can provide.

We really appreciate it and know others will too!
