In many urban areas, people do not have access to ready-made vegan food or the knowledge to use the ingredients that they have access to in order to make delicious vegan food. These city dwellers are often on the go. My cookbook is a 27 recipe guide which will allow city dwellers to enjoy simple vegan food that take minimal ingredients to make. The majority of ingredients in the recipes are easy to find in your neighborhood grocery store and also apply to multiple recipes in the cookbook.

The cookbook is designed to make New Yorkers feel at home as they explore a foreign lifestyle called veganism.  According to the Humane Research Council, 84% of vegetarians and vegans go back to eating meat.  A large portion of that percentage cited lack of community as the reason that they reverted. This cookbook is a beginner's guide to veganism, but also the DNA that binds New York City vegans into a community. This will ensure that the amount of vegan detractors will decrease.

The cookbook  features a variety of residents of New York City who are vegan or “majority vegan”. All residents will be showcased modeling with vegan food usually associated with New York City in familiar New York City areas. Instead of being on a plate, the food will be photographed in take out containers such as those found at Chinese restaurants or at Halal carts.
