Help Afghan Refugees in Indiana!

My name is Ibrahim Bata, and I am a high school senior in Zionsville, Indiana. There are currently 3,300 Afghan refugee minors in Indiana, 30% of them under 4 – please donate to help these kids walk proudly and stand strong!

For over four decades the Afghan people have been suffering. Innocent men, women, and countless children have endured war, with only the lucky surviving. Those that survived either struggle under continuous conflict or are forced to flee their homes and abandon all they have and everyone they know. Afghans make up the largest group of refugees in the world. This goes as far back to when my mother and her family fled Afghanistan in 1982 to escape the Soviet invasion and subsequent devastation. Their chain of suffering must come to an end. Enough is enough!

There are currently almost 7,000 Afghan refugees at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh, Indiana. Nearly 50% are children with 1,000 being 4 years old and younger. The Afghan people have already suffered so much. It is our duty as their new neighbors to make sure they do not suffer here. They are in desperate need of essential supplies since most of them only have the clothes they arrived in. As the colder months approach, they need essential items such as shoes, warm clothing, and coats. Presently, they are in urgent need of shoes – as they are a more expensive item, few are being donated – so that is our top priority. Most of the kids have only sandals and many are barefoot. Let’s help them protect their feet so they can hit the ground running!

I am determined to help the Afghan children at Camp Atterbury with a starting goal to purchase 1,000 brand new shoes that I will deliver to them within two weeks. Please join me in reaching this goal and provide the support our Afghan neighbors need to walk proudly and stand strong!
