Single Mother of 3 that Canceled Her Abortion

Earlier this month our Executive Director, Nathan Berning, convinced a woman to cancel her abortion. This is the story of how it happened.

On Friday, November 30th 2018, I was scrolling through a pro-life forum when I came across a comment that shook me to my core.
A woman was complaining about how her cousin, who had 2 abortions in the past, had scheduled another for Monday, December 3rd. I immediately knew that I needed to do something to try and convince the mother to change her mind. So I started talking to her cousin.
My first thought was to offer to adopt the child and tell her that Emily and I were willing to send $1,000 if she would cancel the abortion.
She started to text her cousin, whose response was gut wrenching —
“I don’t adopt it’s either keep or throw away”. So, I offered to send her $1,000 just to cancel the abortion.
She wanted proof that Let Them Live was a real organization, but agreed to cancel it once she had the money in hand.
With the money in hand, she started making arrangements to cancel the abortion. By now, it was after midnight on Saturday, December 1st.
I reaffirmed that we wanted nothing more than for her to keep the child.
She thanked us for helping her cousin, offering her assistance in the future – we chatted back and forth about making arrangements to visit after the child is born.
Her cousin couldn’t believe that anyone would do something like this.
There was no moment more amazing than when we received the ultrasound of the unborn child we helped save from abortion!
Funds raised here will go to this woman, who is a single mother of 3 and in need of financial assistance. Funds above and beyond her needs will go directly towards convincing other women to cancel their abortions.
