The Smart Family

Dear friends and family,

My name is Jemma, and I am reaching out on behalf of my best friend Abbi's beautiful and hardworking family, who are going through one of the most challenging times of their lives.

Abbi's stepdad, Danny, recently suffered a sudden cardiac arrest that required CPR, leaving him with eight broken ribs, a fractured sternum, and ongoing infections as a result. While we're incredibly grateful he pulled through, his recovery is far from over. He is now facing ongoing heart concerns that require regular tests, specialist appointments, and lots of rest. This has left him unable to return to work for the foreseeable future.

In the midst of this crisis, Kylie—Abbi’s mum—has been working around the clock. After spending their savings to keep up with bills and support their family, she’s now taken on exhausting night shifts after long days, doing everything she can to make ends meet. The emotional and financial toll is immense, and it’s become more than one person should have to carry alone.

This wonderful family has always given so much to others and never asked for help—now it’s our turn to give back.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward covering their medical expenses, daily living costs, and easing the financial burden - giving them some much-needed breathing room to focus on healing and recovery.
