On October 21st of last year, my life and my family’s stability changed in an instant. I was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident when another driver ran a red light and T-boned me. The crash completely totaled my work truck and my enclosed trailer, which held all of my tools—everything I relied on to make a living.
Because of the injuries I suffered in the accident, I’ve been unable to work. As a result, I couldn’t keep up with the costs of maintaining my business, including insurance and workers’ compensation, and I ultimately lost it. Since then, we’ve been doing everything we can just to survive—selling off personal belongings to keep the lights on, avoid eviction, and provide basic necessities for our family.
I am the sole provider for my household. My fiancée stays home to care for our special needs child and our toddler, so returning to work without transportation is impossible.
Things have recently gotten even worse. Our only vehicle was repossessed after we fell just a few weeks behind on payments. We were told to come in to resolve it, only to be informed that we cannot get it back unless we pay more than we currently owe—including a payment that wasn’t even due yet.
On top of everything, we’ve now been given just two weeks to find a new place to live, and we’re struggling to secure housing.
We are doing everything we can to stay strong, but right now, we are facing the hardest time of our lives due to something that was completely out of our control. We don’t have family support to fall back on, and we are running out of options.
We are asking for help to get back on our feet—whether that’s securing housing and getting our vehicle back so I can work again and provide for my family.
If you’re able to help financially, it would mean more to us than we can put into words.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story, and for any support, prayers, or kindness you can offer.
