Family Car

Hi, friends!
Andrea Stewart, Julie Aldrich and Devin McCord here with a request that is near to our hearts. As most of you know, the three of us have been friends for a long time. Andrea and Devin are in Houston, Texas and Julie is from Houston, but currently living in Farmville, Virginia. We three have a mutual friend in need and we need your help to pool our resources and buy a car for them, as they could really use it.
While the beneficiary prefers to remain anonymous, it is a family with two kids who are heavily involved in inner city ministry at the Forge for Families, a Christian community center in Houston’s Third Ward that all of us have been involved with in various ways. This family’s vehicle is old and keeps breaking down. During the past few weeks they were using a borrowed vehicle and that flooded during the hurricane. So now they are in the midst of an inconsistent situation, and it’s hard to get to work on time, and get the kids to school when they need to be there. We have found a good deal on a used family sedan that is in great shape through Brazelton Motors, here in Houston. The total for the car is $17,200. Julie Aldrich is handling the transaction herself and will be the one using the funds from this account to pay Brazelton for the car and they handle delivering it directly to the recipient family. But, we need your help in reaching our goal.
As some of you may have heard before, situations like this can plunge a family into chaos and stress that is overwhelming. Our car breaks down and we get a loaner, rent a car, or borrow one. But we have support and/or resources.
If 60 of our friends gave $250 this weekend, we could buy this car on Monday. Or if 30 of you gave $500, that would be enough. Will you help us?
Thank you for your consideration. You’re literally keeping this family functioning in a healthy and productive direction by giving a few hundred dollars. (And so much of you give to many organizations whose mission is to do this same thing for families. This is just one concrete and immediate need.). We would really love your help.
Thanks for reading and considering—
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or want more information.
In Him,
Julie Aldrich, Devin McCord and Andrea Stewart
