Hello family and friends
I hope and pray this message finds you well.
Let me begin by saying I humbly come to you in a time of need.
This is very difficult for me to ask but it involves my family. I’m reaching out to you because 6 months ago we were faced with a 60 day notice after living at our residence for 20 plus years. Our landlord decided to sell her property. We weren’t financially prepared for this transition.
Before leaving in May we had to pay rent and save money at the same time which became challenging. We weren't financially ready to move into a new home let alone it was to expensive to find a decent home in the area for a family of 7. So we decided we were going to move to Riverside where it’s more affordable.
Not having a place of our own our family had to split up due to living accommodations. With the help of family members we are able to stay with them in order to save money. Our goal was to be moved out by the end of the summer but we weren't ready so we had to extent our stay until November.
We were able to save some money but sadly, we came across some obstacles depleting our savings. This has become very stressful and frustrating. Meanwhile, two out of our five kids are still living with family members and friends. Its difficult to see my kids on certain days knowing we should all be together.
My husband has been working diligently to make extra money . He works nights and during the day he's an Uber driver. In between time, three days out of the week, he takes our 2nd oldest son to work and picks up our oldest son to drop off at a family members house. Majority of the time he sleeps in his car just to get enough sleep so he can continue to fight for this family. During the week, I drive between 64 to 82 miles a day to drop off/pick up our kids from school/work. By the time we get home its 8:30pm, enough time to eat dinner and do homework. On the weekends, I drive 94 miles to pick up/drop off my daughter from Riverside only to spend enough time with her and take her to basketball games before taking her back.
This routine of living has been insane and costly. It feels like we're getting nowhere fast. Our kids are hanging in there but are growing anxious and ready to call a home of their own. My husband and I continue to work diligently to save but the end of the month is approaching quickly and we're in need of help.
We found a home and going through the application process. By the way it sounds, we’re going to get this house but we're still short. We're in need of $3000 to cover deposit. With your help we'll be able to get our new home and family together.
From me to you, we don’t have much but we are at your service when in need. God only knows how much we appreciate everyone's help. I pray blessings upon everyone.
We ask this not be posted on public social media but to share within family and friend connections via text.
God Bless!
The Potts Family
