Hi! My name is Robert Shema. I am a Life Scout with Troop 110 in Sierra Madre, California, working towards my Eagle Scout rank. For my service project I have chosen to renovate the Charles Peterson Memorial Well at Lizzie's Trail Inn. This Well was built to commemorate Sierra Madre Historical Preservation Society members for their years of service to our community. Over the past 30 years the well has unfortunately fallen into a state of disrepair with rotted wood and cracked supports. With help from my fellow Scouts I will rebuild the well structure and renovate the stone wall. The new well will be built to last for many more years, and also allow for easier maintenance. Better materials and a more robust structure will ensure the improved resistance to the elements while retaining the aesthetic appeal.
