my name is Melina Albano , and I am reaching out for support during one of the hardest times of my life. My dad, who has been an abusive alcoholic and absent from our lives, is now suing my mom—a single mother who has given everything to raise me and my three siblings. He has never willingly contributed to our care unless forced by the court, and now he is trying to take what little we have left.

Our family has already endured losing our home to foreclosure, and my mom has been forced to carry the weight of all financial and emotional responsibilities. She has supported my oldest brother in his recovery from addiction while still doing everything possible to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. Now, my dad is demanding money my mom never even received, and she is left with no choice but to sell her car while still trying to provide for us.

We are at risk of losing everything. My mom is the strongest person I know, but she cannot fight this battle alone.
