Hi everyone,
I am humbly reaching out to ask my community for help as my family has had a lot of bad luck recently that has placed many financial burdens on us:
My dad was let go from his job a few weeks ago and unfortunately has not been able to find a new job. We have also had a hard time getting unemployment benefits as his account was fraudulent when we first applied for some reason. It’s finally been fixed but it will still take at least a couple of weeks to receive the first check.
My mom is a courier and her work van broke down. She was told it was better to get a new one as it was going to cost more to fix it. Thankfully we had a family friend who had an extra one to help at the moment but without one she can’t work.
Houston also had a bad storm on Thursday that left us without electricity for 4 days. We had to buy a generator in order to save as much food as we could and to have some kind of power. Unfortunately a lot spoiled so we have to buy lots of groceries again.
This on top of regular bills, mortgage payments, etc.
As many of you know, I am currently supporting myself on my art commissions while I study to switch careers. Unfortunately with what I’m making I am not able to help out like I usually do. However, times like this call
for community and I know I have many people around me who understand sometimes we all need a bit of help so if you are able to, it would be really appreciated!
