Aloha,

Many of you have heard of the fires that have devastated my home island of Maui, Hawai'i. Fires have burned Lahaina, the historic capital of Hawai'i, to the ground. Many have lost loved ones, and many who escaped with their lives have lost everything they have. My family and friends have been directly affected by this tragedy and your support will go a long way toward helping my people rebuild.

The money generated by this fundraiser will go towards two main causes:

Firstly, my hānai brother Duncan Harrisson who lived barely more than a mile from the epicenter of the fire has lost everything. His home, his car, his workplace, and his belongings all burned as he escaped with the clothes on his back and whatever he could carry. We are so grateful that Duncan escaped with his life, and some of these funds will be dedicated to supporting his difficult transition as he starts over from scratch.

Furthermore, a portion of these funds will be directed toward helping the community that is in need right now. Supplies and resources on Maui are limited and I will be directly ordering the most in-demand items to my family's home in Pukalani to be dropped off at the shelters to provide and distribute these items in the most efficient way possible.

All donations big or small are appreciated. $5 is a new pair of socks or a roll of bandages. $10 is a warm meal. Anything you can spare will go towards helping my family, friends, and community recover from this disaster. Mahalo for your generosity.
