We are trying to get enough money raised to get Rob and Kelly (Kras) Merkel and their kids, Kane (4) and Kali (2), back home to Illinois. Rob was diagnosed with cancer a year ago. He went through treatment for the type of cancer he has. When he went back to get his PET scan in October and they found his cancer had metastasized into his liver. They were trying to do some chemo to prolong his life span to maybe a year. They just found out last week that the chemo he is now receiving, is not working and the cancer has spread more. So the doctor won't be able to do anything else. They just want to come home to be with their families for the support they are going to be needing. Rob has been unable to work for quite a long time, so they just do not have the finances to get back. He is only 33 years old and this is just not how things are supposed to go. His sister Katie was killed in a car accident 6 years ago in Oswego at the age of 14 and now our family has to go through this as well. Please help support him, so they can get home soon.
