My dear family friend, Elijah Wilson, a college freshman in Tallahassee, is facing the unimaginable. Last night, as he was getting ready to go to sleep, the Social Seminole apartment building became engulfed in flames. Elijah had only seconds to evacuate before the building went down - escaping with nothing but the clothes he was wearing and his car keys.

Elijah lost everything he owns: all of his clothing, his laptop for school, and the essential kitchen, dorm, and household items he relied on while living on his own for the first time. As he begins the difficult process of rebuilding his life from scratch, I’m asking for support on his behalf.

Any amount - big or small - will make a meaningful difference as Elijah replaces the basics he needs to feel safe, settled, and able to continue his education.
