We are raising money to try and adopt a baby. My wife Kimmie and I will be married for 6 years this October and have been together 10 years. We have been through a great journey together filled with great times and some not so great times as any relationship will have, but we are strong partners and love each other eternally. In the spring of 2017, Kimmie was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer during a check up to make sure she was medically ok for us to have children. Then we got the bad news and we had to act fast. It was on the anniversary of my father's death we got the news, March 3rd, which will always be an odd day, due to my niece being born on this day as well . Currently at this time she is almost 2 years cancer free! Unfortunately the treatment took her ability to have children away and has caused a lingering sadness in us. We looked into harvesting her eggs, but that procedure and the carrier process is extremely complicated and very expensive. The surgery for it would have been a procedure that isn't done anymore and a logistical nightmare as we were told from the clinic themselves. The current way of doing this was high risk due to the location of the mass and could have spread the bad cells. This was devastating to hear. Broke my heart, not just for me, but for my wife who was meant to be a mother as anyone who knows her can tell you. We looked into foster care but its complicated and emotionally high risk as well. Wisconsin has a complicated system for these things. So we are pursuing adoption.  We have to exhaust every option to have a family before we.....can't, as we are in our mid 30's. However, the cost of adoption is expensive and complicated as well . We have looked into other avenues of financing this expense but its a high number with the possibility of being a gross number that I would flinch at to even type and put our family in financial position that would benefit nobody. Bringing a child into that would be irresponsible. A loan from a bank is a possibility, but again the financial burden of that is also something that may not be beneficial for anyone in the long run, but I do have that in my back pocket as a last resort. Kimmie is an office manager and I am an auto mechanic, who don't bring in the amount of funds that this would require, but are sufficient and self sustained in all other aspects of life. We have bills, they get paid. Even the medical bills we're managing, but this expence is large, and apparently not straight forward. Different factors come into place with different requirements that can pop up and make it, even from the agency's we have spoken to words, unpredictable. We only get estimates or approximations. We have worked our whole lives to get to the American dream, and we are almost there, there's just one piece missing. So here we are, trying to fit the missing piece into our puzzle by asking for assistance. Every penny will go towards this cause.  Every. Penny. I understand that this is a big ask for anybody.
