I am looking for your support to help my cousin Ahmed, his wife Nada and their 3 year old daughter Roya rebuild their lives after losing everything in the war on Gaza. This is in their own words:
I want to tell you about my story and what happened with us in the war on Gaza.I am a mother of a 3 years old, Roya, a wife and a daughter.
I am 33 years old, I lived all my life in beloved Gaza. I lived through all the escalations and wars in Gaza caused by the Israeli occupation
In one of the wars, my family and I lost our home before I got married, and all our memories were gone. We left everything in it and were evacuated from the house, as we were informed by the Israeli army. Minutes later, we saw our house being destroyed before our eyes and turning into ashes.
Despite the passage of years, the scene in my memory remains the same and I cannot forget it until the next war comes, causing more damage. This time it is not like other wars I lived through, it is genocide. We lost everything.
My husband Ahmad was the owner of a children's clothing store, and now my husband has lost his job and his store, my daughter has lost the kindergarten where she used to learn and play.
We lost our future and we have nothing left.
This is my beautiful little girl, Roya who lived through three wars from the beginning of her birth until now. The first war my little girl lived was in 2021, the year she was born! And in the month she was born! She was just a few days old.
We were living a normal and beautiful life before October 7, 2023. After that, our lives changed completely and everything was taken from us. On October 13, 2023, we left our warm home and fled to the southern part of Gaza Strip.
As a result of our displacement from our home to a small house in the south of Gaza Strip, a house filled with many families consisting of elderly people, women, men and children. We were having difficulty washing our clothes as a result of the lack of water and electricity. We only had unhealthy food available to us, and I was unable to feed my daughter the healthy foods that were appropriate for her and would help in her growth. My daughter's health has been affected, her physical structure has become very weak, and her eye has become infected. It has been exposed to inflammation due to pollution and lack of water and bathing. Roya's leg was also injured due to the bombing near the house where we were staying.
Now I don't know anything about my home in Gaza. I do not know who lives in it and whether it is still suitable for living or not. Everything has become unknown.
My husband and I still hope to rebuild our lives, our memories and the sound of our little daughter’s laughter that used to fill the house.
We still have hope and strength for Roya. We want to build a future for her. We want to ensure her education, as she wants to learn and play as a natural right, like all children in the world. My husband also has no job and no clear future.
Your support, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives and provide a glimmer of hope in the midst of turmoil. Together, we can ensure the safety and well-being of my loved ones as we navigate this crisis.
I humbly ask for your kindness, compassion, and please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your friends and family to amplify our plea for assistance.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support and solidarity during this critical moment for our family
With much appreciation and gratitude
Nada and Ahmad.
