Hi everybody! We are raising money for our son Derek. He was denied boarding yesterday to come back home to Canada after having a medical exam in Mexico City. Upon leaving the airport, he got into a taxi and when he got out of the taxi, it took off, taking his luggage with it. He was robbed and left with literally nothing with the clothes on his back and his documents. Now we are trying to get back to our son as quickly as possible, to support him while he waits to get his situation straightened out and he can come home.

Derek is an amazing kid and a great student. He’s a great example that anyone should strive to be. He is loved by his family, his friends, and by those in the church. he is a very sweet, loving, and caring individual. He is always willing to help anyone in their time of need. Now, Derek needs help. He is afraid he will miss his graduation and his Sea Cadets training and his birthday.

All funds will be used for expenses, such as travel, lodging, document and processing fees, food, and basic necessities for Derek. Any little bit helps, so don’t think that any amount you can spare is insignificant. We

UPDATE: Eli has purchased her ticket to be with Derek for Thursday. Derek has some clothes now, thanks to all of you. We know that his US visa now requires another interview. We don’t know how long that will take. So we still don’t have an update on when he can come home. A HUGE thank you to everyone who has shared or donated. We appreciate all of it!
