In late spring, due to intense rainfall, a massive rockfall occurred at Saat Peak in Altit Hunza, sending a giant boulder tumbling down the steep slopes. This disaster not only damaged agricultural and residential lands but also partially destroyed my neighbor's home in Mohammadabad, Altit. As a devoted father of three, he witnessed this twice. Unfortunately, this year, the boulder crushed his kitchen, a painful reminder of how fleeting stability can be.

I remember the joy he felt while building his home from scratch, pouring his savings, time, and energy into creating a space for his family. To have that dream shattered is a heavy burden to bear.

It's unimaginable to start over, especially in a remote region where opportunities are limited. Given the current state of our economy, finding a job after such a crisis is also challenging. My neighbor is now struggling to rebuild his home while also supporting his children's education and daily expenses. The situation can feel overwhelming, and no one should have to face such hardships alone.

That's why I'm organizing this GoFundMe campaign on this year's International Mountain Day—to raise funds to help him build a new home. Any amount you can contribute will go directly toward rebuilding his life and offering a glimmer of hope for his family during this difficult time.
