Long Game, Service Pack 1

Last week, I put a hefty down payment on the long game. Please help me fund this forthcoming Culver project.

Hello folks, it's Jon Culver, your activist tech Dad in residence. And I need your help today.

So, the big awful news: Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on Friday. This was a plan fifty years in the making, hatched & executed by conservatives. And they've already telegraphed their intent to undermine more basic rights of Americans. Democrats are in power, they hold a trifecta, they're refusing to use a lot of tools at their disposal, they're slated to lose a ton of seats in the midterms this November, and they have no discernable plan to stop the bleeding.

And bigger picture, Roe is the latest hit, but there's a laundry list of concurrent crises that all point back to two uncomfortable truths: institutions failing us, and our elected leaders are by and large, not leading in this moment. And we are going to need to adapt.

I've had something in the works for a little while now. I can't share all the details yet, but just last week, I put up a hefty down payment on the long game. And today, I am asking for your financial support to help me bring this plan to fruition. Now, this is not some generic, "please chip in" general fundraising ask. And I give you my word, I'm not going to blow it on consultants or NFTs or what have you. I am asking you to contribute to a very specific, honestly pret-ty exciting line item that is going to contribute a lot of good for the long road ahead. So I've set a goal to raise $1,650. And if you and just sixty other people come through with that solidarity $27 dollars, I'll hit the goal in no time.

And I should say too, this is a rare occasion for Culver to be asking for money. I basically don't do it. Only twice ever in my seven+ years of my pretty concerted activist work, I fundraised my trip to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in 2016, and last year as candidate running for City Council. But most of the stuff I do, I just go *do* it.

But today, because this project warrants it, and because this moment warrants it, I'm asking for your financial support. So please donate $27, or anything you can, help this Culver plan come to fruition. Link in the description, and thank you for your support everybody.
