I want to take a moment to share something that’s really close to my heart, and I hope you’ll take a minute to read it. Today, I’m reaching out for a cause that’s very urgent: helping my amazing friend Maddie.

Maddie is 42 and one of the kindest people I know; she would literally give you the shirt off her back. Unfortunately, life has thrown her a curveball, and now she’s the one who needs our support.

A couple of years ago, Maddie and her partner bought their dream fixer-upper. Just a month after moving in, her partner lost his job and has been trying different things, but nothing has worked so far. Maddie held everything together until she got pregnant with their beautiful daughter. After a tough pregnancy and an emergency C-section, life became even more challenging. She was only earning a fraction of her salary on maternity leave, and when she returned to work, she lost her job shortly after.

Maddie has worked hard to find a new position, looking for over two years. Despite her 15 years of experience and qualifications, she received little response to her applications—just crickets. Now, she has exhausted her savings and pension just trying to keep her family afloat. The bills are piling up, and the bank is putting pressure on them regarding their home. Maddie’s partner also requires medication for ADHD, anxiety, and depression—something they can’t afford to skip. While Maddie is now working as a candidate real estate agent, the commissions take time to come in, and those bills don’t wait.

We’ve done an estimation and they’ll need about £10,000 (approximately R227,000) to get back on track. Here’s a breakdown of how the funds will help:

Outstanding House Payments: £2,200 (R50,000)

Outstanding Electricity Bill: £1,950 (R45,000)

Living Expenses for the Next 3 Months: £1,850 (R42,000)
