I have struggled with mental health myself, and so have my friends and family. I know people who have lost loved ones to suicide, people who have attempted to take their own lives, and those who have battled and are currently battling addiction and grief. The thought of taking my own life has crossed my mind many times. The impact of these struggles is felt deeply in our community. Right now, I am going through a challenging time, and this 620-mile campaign is something I look forward to. Even in my lowest moments, I am determined to keep going and inspire others to do the same.
This fundraiser is for everyone who is facing hardship and feels alone, including those experiencing addiction, grief, or any kind of pain that feels impossible to overcome. The funds raised will be used for outreach and awareness, helping people acquire the tools they need to endure difficult times and find community resources. I hope to partner with organizations and donate to them, so more people can access support and hope. Your contribution will help create resources, connect people to help, and make a real difference in the lives of those struggling with mental health, addiction, and grief.
I encourage everyone to check in on their loved ones and seek help if they need it. Go outside, take a walk, and get involved with organizations that provide resources. You don’t need to donate if you’re unable to—your support and involvement matter. Together, we can build a community where no one feels alone and everyone has the tools to keep going.
