​Our Story: Six Years of Being "Together Strong"

Six years ago, We Together Strong Community began with a simple mission: to ensure no neighbor has to face hunger alone. What started as a grassroots effort has grown into a dedicated family of volunteers. Every single Saturday, our team is on the ground providing food and support to community members, ensuring that essential nutrition is available week after week, year after year.

​Beyond Our Borders: Helping Jasper and Hinton

Our commitment to being "Together Strong" means showing up whenever our neighbors are in need. When the devastating 2024 wildfires impacted Jasper and Hinton, our team took action. We extended our outreach to provide emergency food relief to those displaced by the fires, ensuring that even in the face of disaster, no one was left without a meal.

​Growing a Greener Future

We believe in nourishing the land as much as the people. Every year, in partnership with the City of Edmonton, our volunteers roll up their sleeves to plant trees across our city. We are proud to help build a sustainable, greener future for the next generation of Edmontonians.

​The Goal: Our Anniversary Impact

To celebrate six years of dedicated service, we are launching our most ambitious distribution yet. On May 9, 2026, we aim to provide comprehensive food hampers to between 151 and 201 families.

​These aren't just boxes of food—they are a lifeline. Each hamper is filled with nutritious essentials like rice, lentils, and fresh produce, ensuring that families can gather around a full table.

​More Than a Meal: Culture and Recognition

This anniversary isn't just about the food; it’s about the spirit of our community. Our celebration will include:

​Cultural Programming: Music and performances that celebrate the diverse heritage of our neighborhood.

​Volunteer Recognition: We will be presenting special recognition spoons to the dedicated volunteers and sponsors who have been the backbone of this organization for over half a decade.

We have set a goal of $5,000 to cover the cost of the bulk food supplies, the cultural event logistics, and the recognition items for our hard-working team.
