Hello!!
Here is story #3 in my amazing journey working for No More A Stranger Foundation (NoMas).
A very miraculous situation occurred over a year ago.
We had a very large family come to see us in order to apply for legal permanent resident cards (green cards). They were documented refugees from Africa. The children were beautiful, the mother's clothing was colorful, and the father was appropriately solemn.
So what could go wrong?? Well, they spoke French, African French. I can barely speak Spanish, and we only had one person who could speak a little European French.
Imagine my surprise when we had a volunteer show up who was fluent in French, Creole, and English! We brought her to these clients and an immediate and happy bond formed. She was delighted to assist them in their cases (nine all together) and we loved seeing the interaction.
We could not do what we do without varied and dedicated volunteers - and donors like you
This is my "why" - the reason I love my job! I am Marilee Weston and I work with No More A Stranger Foundation.
