We are Alpha Omega Epsilon, an engineering sorority at Virginia Tech. This is the second year we will be participating in VT Habitat for Humanity’s Shack-a-Thon on campus. Shack-a-Thon participants build shacks outside of Squires Student Center, then take shifts living in them 24 hours a day for five days. The whole time, participants raise funds for Habitat in creative ways. Last year our organization won “best structure” and came in second for fundraising. As women in engineering, this competition not only raises money for a worthy cause, but it also gives us experience in our field.
We need your help because we cannot afford all the materials we need to build our shack! With your help we hope that we can build the best shack for a second year in a row and have a sturdy and safe structure to donate to a family in need after the event is over. Thank you so much for the support!
