5th Annual Holiday Children's Hospital Donation

Hi There! My name is Mariah!  As I realize most people whom I will share this with will know me, I do also recognize there are probably a few of you that have never met me, and to those, it is nice to meet you! 

To anyone who has come across this page, you may or may not know how this donation campaign started. I have always wanted to forgo all participation in christmas gift giving or receiving. and instead, focus on what the holidays were really about. Five years ago was the year I finally followed through on withdrawing myself from the festivities.  I did this not to be a scrooge, or to save money, or anything like that. I decided this with the intention of remembering and refocusing on what is actually important during the holidays and really, always. Spending time with people I love, baking, laughing, playing games, seeing those whom I dont get to see all that much, and most of all, that giving most certainly surpasses receiving. 

I know this year has not been normal for any of us… The heavy impacts and harsh losses due to COVID-19 have posed serious hurdles for all- there are no questions there. The way we shape this year’s donation will be slightly different as well, but my hope and goal, with your help, is to continue to show how much we care for these kiddos and that and the end of the day, that we remain mindful that no matter where we are at, we must always remember to serve and inspire and touch as many lives as we can with the time we are given.

Here is what this year’s donation will look like- While I cannot donate blankets and other clothing/toiletry items (part of the Parents overnight bags that I added in last year) due to the hospitals strict COVID-19 policies and regulations, in research, I learned that Gillette has set up an Amazon Wish List where you can purchase pre-selected items and have them sent directly to the hospital – with blankets and the overnight bags out of the equation, my goal is to buy as many of these toys and necessities as possible. I want to CLEAR OUT that list and I have no doubt we can do this!

So, this is what I have planned thus far, and seeing how things have gone his year, this plan may shift, and I ask that you remain supportive through any pivots that need to be made to keep everyone safe. Also, please know that you do not need to partake in this opportunity or feel obligated to donate, however, I hope this year’s efforts will be as successful, if not more, as previous years and I would love and appreciate any financial support in hopes of making this year’s donation as over the top and spirit lifting as I can… socially distanced, of course!
