Salaams everyone
My name is Iram Abbasi and I'm a family physician in Kitchener, Canada.
This November I am joining a medical team arranged by IMANA that's heading to Yemen second for the time.
Our brothers and sisters in Yemen have been victims of a civil war for the past 8 years.
The conflict has displaced over 4.3 million people, that's almost the combined population of the GTA and surrounding cities. 80% of Yemenis are in currently in need of basic humanitarian aid such as food, shelter and medical care. This is a direct result of armed conflicts and natural disasters.
The medical team and I are working in the UNHCR urban camps in Aden. We are providing basic health care for the people there who don't have the resources or access to health care.
I will be here until Nov 10 Inshallah providing medical care to the displaced population of Yamen. The volunteers in the mission cover the cost of their travel and the donations are used to fund the dispenseries and arranging basic medical tests for the patients who need it.Any support you can offer will help the team reach more people in need and a cause that is close to my ❤️.
