Hi my name is Natalie. I’m currently studying to be a mental health nurse at Leeds Beckett university. It has always been a dream of mine to go and volunteer in Africa and try and make a real difference to the communities out there. I have signed up for a Sumer project for August 2025 to be part of a childcare project.
I will be volunteering in a small community in Ghana and helping with the local schools, working primarily with the smaller children, teaching them things like numbers , shapes and colours as well as assisting the teachers.
I am also hoping to be able to take a lot of supplies over such as colouring books, stickers, crayons and lots more.
During my time I won’t just be volunteering with the school, my aim to is to maximise as much time as I can helping the community with other projects such as women empowerment, hospitals, wound clinics and anything else the program can offer.
I do appreciate that times are tough at the moment for everyone but if you can at all help it would be greatly appreciated.
I don’t expect anything for nothing so as a fundraiser I am also going be walking the Welsh 3000, also known as the 14 Peaks Challenge, over two days in April. Hoping to get this completed within less than 24 hours of day light :) I’m not quite ready to be hiking in the dark !!
Thank you soo much for taking the time to read this and if you have donated I really appreciate it and will make a huge impact on a little one in Ghana :)
