My mother, Mary, came to the U.S. in 2005 and applied for asylum in order to escape a civil war in Colombia. She came with her 9 year old daughter, Daniela (that's me). Both of us have been through the immigration process, but with no luck after years of trying.
Ever since, she has provided us with a place to stay, food on the table, and she has helped me pay my college tuition. There were times where she had to work three jobs, even four jobs at one point, to make ends meet for our family. I cannot think of anyone more selfless and dedicated. She helped me go from community college to graduate school at Johns Hopkins University. I could not have done this without her.
After 13 years of fighting an unjust immigration system, my mother was detained by ICE during a routine check in. She is an active member of her community and has a completely clean record. Please help me bring her home. I am raising money for her legal fees. If you are able to give anything at all, even $1 helps! Thank you so much.
