5km in Goalkeeper Kit!

Hi, I am Steve, and on 18th May 2025, I will be running the Knowle Fun Run (5k) in full goalkeeping kit which includes kickers, leg guards, protective shorts, body armour, gloves and a helmet!

I am doing this for a few reasons, the main one being to raise money for Cancer Research UK to try and aid in the fight against Cancer that has affected far too many people that are close to me, and their families. I will be giving 50% of everything I raise to that charity.

For those that know me well, they will also know I am part of Hockey for Heroes, and I will be putting 25% of the money I raise towards their Operation Peace Finder tour, which is starting on 23rd May in Warwick and is aiming to raise £80k to give to Help for Heroes.

Finally, I am running in full kit to both showcase the amazing kit I use (from Mercian Hockey, who support me in all my hockey endeavours) and to support the club I am Chairman of - Old Silhillians Hockey Club - as they look to provide more affordable hockey into local schools, and the community of Solihull. Hence, the final 25% of the funds I raise will go directly to supporting this outreach work.
