COVID-19 is affecting everyone in different ways, and for those in the service industry, it has completely disrupted their flow of income. The social distancing guidelines and Illinois stay at home order have kept three of my favorite ladies from doing their daily jobs which they rely on to pay rent, essential bills, buy groceries, and support their families.
When I hit my fundraising goal I will shave my beloved beard into a mustache. What screams social distancing better than a mustache? Nothing, that's what!
100% of the funds raised after fees and charges by GoFundMe will be split equally to three of my closest friends, Alex, Shannon, & Susie, whom are unable to do their jobs due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. 0% for me, 100% for them.

Alex is a stylist at Chicago's Twisted Scissors in the Logan Square neighborhood. Her sole source of income has been cut off since she can no longer operate at the salon until social distancing and the stay at home order are lifted. When I moved to Highwood two years ago Alex quickly became my closest friend. Alex and her son come to my house every week for dinner & drinks and the kids play for hours on end. She's my closest confidant, my faux-sister, and person who makes me laugh the most in this world.

Shannon is a bartender at the Toadstool Pub in Highwood. I have worked with her for nearly a decade and we quickly became extremely close. Her husband Marco is one of my oldest friends from grade school and they have a brood of three boys and a girl from diapers to high school age. The Toadstool Pub was Shannon & Marco's main source of income (usually 4 shifts a week!) and she hasn't been able to tend bar as a result of social distancing and the Illinois stay at home order.

Last but certainly not least is Susie. I met Susie nearly 20 years ago working at the Silver Dollar Tavern in Highwood and now she works at the Toadstool Pub, just like Shannon. Susie and her husband Sean have two beautiful daughters under three years old. The loss of income from working 3-4 shifts per week at the Toadstool is going to have a very negative impact on them and their daughters.
Please donate, every dollar matters. And if we hit my goal of $3,000 raised I'll throw in additional support of shaving my beautiful, beloved beard into a mustache as well!
