5k a day in June - Wedding Community Call to Action

My name is Jean Barrett Quinn and I am a wedding Celebrant in Northern Ireland.

Whether you are a wedding supplier, getting married, have been married or have simply heard of the word 'wedding' - this is a Call to Action!

Wedding Industry folks; we are in the business of joy, family, community and love; all of which is being destroyed in certain parts of our world.

We have all witnessed the atrocities happening around the world recently. The horrors in Gaza and Sudan to name but a couple.

Currently the situation in Palestine, specifically Gaza is catastrophic. With tens of thousands dead and missing, buried under the rubble to the most recent starvation of the entire population - we must do something to support.

Sudan is currently facing the largest humanitarian crisis ever recorded with over 13 million children facing acute food insecurity.

I share your feelings of helplessness bearing witness without believing you can make a change. We can. We will. Together.

In the month of June I will be running 5k a day with a twist. The twist is I want you to do it with me and/or donate. You don't need to run all of it, that's my burden to bear! I am simply asking you to run, walk, cycle, push a buggy, walk a dog for 5k ONE DAY out of 30.

We are stronger together, the power of community can affect change. The power of community can make us all feel less alone, less like we are screaming into a void. We are DOING something.

All of the funds raised will go directly to Save The Children who deliver life saving aid and support in these areas.
